Publisher: Jolly Music
Editor: Jolly, E (arr.)
Jolly Music presents 'Six Sonatas for Two Flutes, Vol. 1' by Joseph Bologne, arranged here for two flutes by Elizabeth Jolly.
Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, was a French-Caribbean composer, violinist, and conductor often hailed as the first known classical composer of African descent. His 'Six Sonatas' were originally written for solo violin with a second violin accompaniment. In this arrangement, the first part is more technically demanding while the second part provides rhythmic and harmonic structure.
