Bost-Sandberg, L :: the whirring dusk
|
Chromaworks Press presents 'the whirring dusk' by Lisa Bost-Sandberg. About the piece, the composer shares, “In writing the whirring dusk, I was reflecting on the conflicting emotions and states of being that come with significant life experiences. Pain and joy, fragility and strength, disquiet and peace—they are visceral, they are entwined, and they evolve and transform through the moments and the months.” Fittingly, this duo ventures through several sections that explore related musical materials presented in different characterizations and varied settings of timbre, color, texture, and harmony. Finalist, 2021 National Flute Association Newly Published Music Competition, Flute and Piano (Original Works) Category. Finalist, 2020 Flute New Music Consortium Composition Competition, Flute and Piano Category. |
