Brant, H :: Music for an Imaginary Ballet
Henry Brant, one of the fathers of contemporary flute music, presents Music for an Imaginary Ballet, for piccolo, cello, and piano.
In three movements, Brant's Imaginary Ballet is explicitly, indeed, a ballet - the overture is a tone poem on marionettes, the second movement is an exaggerated tango, and the third movement is an engaging can-can. All these forms, of course, are through Brant's particular ear for harmony and vivid, often clashing ideas.
For advanced players.
