Briccialdi, G :: Portafoglio per i dilettanti, op. 67
Portafoglio per i dilettanti, op. 67
Briccialdi, G
Giulio Briccialdi was one of the greatest flautists of the 19th century, famed across Europe as the "Paganini of the Flute". He composed over 200 works, mostly salon pieces and variations on opera themes for flute and piano. His music is imbued with all the melodic charm of the bel canto style, and although Portafoglio per i dilettanti for two flutes and piano does not directly takes its thematic inspiration from the opera house, its musical style certainly does. With its delightfully romantic melodies and sparkling virtuoso fireworks, this full revised edition of Duo no. 2, Op. 67 is a significant new addition to the standard repertoire for two flutes and piano.
