Quetzal Music presents "Botanical Obsessions" by composer Elizabeth Brown.
The composer writes about this piece: Each of the 3 Botanical Obsessions for solo flute refers to a charismatic plant with which the composer, an avid gardener, was preoccupied. Milky Bellfower (campanula lactiflora) has glorious milky-blue bell-shaped flowers; an old cottage garden favorite, Heliotrope has clusters of tiny purple flowers with a rich vanilla fragrance; and the Chaste Tree (vitex agnus-castus) has lavendar flower spikes and grey-green foliage, both of which give off a spicy scent when brushed. In each movement, the flute uses a language of microtonal trills and progressions to swirl and obsessively repeat a few simple gestures. Botanical Obsessions was commissioned by flutist Stefani Starin. It was premiered by the composer at the National Flute Association Convention in the year 2000. Funding by the Brannen-Cooper Fund was sponsored by the Electronic Music Foundation.

Sheet music, instrument purchases, and Special Order Only (SOO) merchandise are non-returnable.
For other non-instrument merchandise, request return authorization or make an in-person return within 10 calendar days of the original invoice date. Items must be unused, undamaged, in their original packaging with all contents, and accompanied by the original receipt or invoice. Electronic media must be unopened.
Shipped returns require prior authorization. Return Authorizations (RAs) are valid for 10 calendar days from issue. The RA number must appear on the package, and the return must arrive within that period.
Defective merchandise may be exchanged for an identical item if requested within 10 calendar days of the original invoice date. After that period, contact the manufacturer. Please contact us promptly about fulfillment errors.
