This piece has a lyrical and sentimental feel, with slightly melancholic moments. The flute takes the lead, with the harp (or piano) accompanying. These sections are interspersed with passages of dialogue between the two players.
Serenade was a winning entry in the 2014 Druskomanija International Music Festival composition competition. It was performed twice at the festival in Lithuania, including its world premier performance at the museum and former house of celebrated painter, composer and writer M.K. Ciurlionis.
