From the collection of Jean-Louis Beaumadier, Daniel Dahl’s Failles for piccolo and piano is quite an impressive encore! Lightning fast technique and articulation, as well as extended techniques, such as pitch bending and singing while playing are introduced in the piece. Various sections indicate for the performer to play into the sustain of the piano, allowing creative space to be fluid and flexible with tempo. Approximately four minutes in length, Failles is an excellent choice for recitals. Dahl is a prolific 20th century American composer and professor.
