DeLise writes about this piece, "Fantasy on Amazing Grace' for flute choir mirrors an earlier version I composed for SATB choir and piano. Except for the addition of a one-beat anacrusis in the piccolo 1 part, this flute choir version precisely follows the format of the choral version.
'The 'Fantasy' can also be performed with a choir of vocalists replacing the Flute 1, Flute 2, Alto Flute, and Bass Flute parts (top four staves of the score), with singers in the soprano, alto, tenor, bass configuration. In the choir format, the flutes will of course become the accompaniment.'
