Huit etudes de salon [8 Parlor Studies]
Donjon, J
From the publisher, Gerard Billaudot and edited by Pierre Paubon, Johannes Donjon’s Eight Parlour Studies for solo flute is a phenomenal addition to the flute repertoire. These etudes are advanced, yet fit beautifully into the hands of the flutist. Flutists will find that mastery of these etudes are moderately challenging, yet rewarding. Donjon requires the flutist to have utmost control in all registers, embouchure flexibility, clean articulation, and breath support, as well as exceptional technical facility. The phrases are long, delightful and lyrical. This book is an excellent addition to any lover of Donjon works for the flute. Donjon was a prolific 19th century French composer and virtuoso flutist.
