9 Pieces Volume 1: 4 Pieces
Dowland, J
From the publisher, Gerard Billaudot, John Dowland’s 9 Pieces for flute and guitar is a set of two volumes:1-4, and 5-9. Originally for lute, Jean-Maurice Mourat’s transcription of these pieces are quite lovely. This volume contains the first four pieces, which lasts just under 5 minutes. The pieces are simple and fit well in the flutist’s hands, while the guitar line supports the flute with lush cords, as the flute line dances above. John Dowland was a prolific 16th century English composer and lutist.
