Gavotte
Dvorak, A
"The Gavotte on hand composed for 3 violins by Antonin Dvorak on August 19th, 1890 was published in the same year in the series 'Der junge Geiger' (The young violinist). The difficulties of the charming little composition were determined by the educational objective of this series.
Although in his symphonies, in the violin concert, in the cello concert, and in numerous other great works for orchestra Dvorak provided the flute with very beautiful solos which were adequate for this instrument he did not leave a chamber musical work for flute. Therefore, it seems legitimate to arrange such a delightful work which follows the music of the Baroque but which nevertheless is typical for Dvorak for 3 flutes especially, since this arrangement was possible without any difficulties due to the almost total lack of double stops by transposition from G minor to C minor." - Frank Michael
