Dvorak, A :: The Noon Witch (Polednice)
Publisher: Megido Publications
Editor: Kirkpatrick, L (arr)
Megido Publications presents 'The Noon Witch (Polednice)' by Antonin Dvorak, arranged here for flute choir by Linda Kirkpatrick.
Antonin Dvorak was a Czech nationalist who was fascinated with the folklore of his country: its songs, dances, poetry, and folk tales. A figure in Czech folklore, the Noon Witch is a being that comes after children who are naughty. The motifs within this piece follow the story of a child playing quietly until a witch steals him away from his mother.
