From the composer:
'This, my first flute trio, captures the beautiful resonance and harmonizing character of the instrument. Dissonances and simple triads are used without reservation, creating a musical structure built out of free style and form. The title 'Triad' depicts this unrestrained meaning that can be interpreted divergently. Composed for the Kano vs. Ehara Wind Band Creation Competition (Concert featuring compositions of Souhei Kano and Daisuke Ehara) on May 5th, 2015 and performed by Ai Terada, Ayako Igarashi, and Shizuha Kuroda.'
