Composed on the occasion of the 90th birthday of Gyorgy Kurtag, Peter Eotvos's trio for piccolo (doubling alto), cell, and piano, which is only five minutes long, captivates with its compressed, contemporary sense of play. The change of piccolo and alto flute, piano sound surprises and the scordatura of the cello lead to ever-new combinations. The conclusion is a tongue in cheek jubilation with deep cello.
