Essyad, A :: Les eaux meurent en dormant
Ahmed Essyad presents Les eaux meurent en dormant for alto flute and piano.
The second piece in Ahmed Essyad's Le Cycle de L'eau [The Water Cycle], Les eaux meurent en dormant (The stagnating waters die) portrays the drying-up and spastic movements of small fish, crustaceans, and bacteria as they squirm and fade against the blazing sun. Dark, quick spastic outbursts from both instruments end with a long solo cadenza from the alto flute, which brings the piece to a close.
Duration: 10'30. For advanced players.
