Composed under the spell of the prairie at Ragdale, the artists colony in Illinois, Field Passage is an extended single-movement work drenched in 21st Century American harmonic and melodic writing. With rich, wandering melodies that extend across pages, clever dance-moments and fragments scattered throughout, and constant textural changes, Field Passage is a gripping recital work that charms as much as it slyly gives the players a workout.
