Paul Jorge Ferreira presents In Extremis for flute, cello, and accordion (or piano).
This work is dividied in three parts. The first movement (Con movimento), consisting of a complex rhythmic texture, is characterized by some indefinition from the point of view of the musical speech, also revealing a high structural density.
The second movement (Largo) aims to create a quilt ambient, where all three instruments generate sound effects which are intended to create a mysterious atmosphere.
The third part of the work (allegro), quite lively with a very impetuous rhythmic natures, provides a contagious energy.
One of the goals of this piece is to explore the timbric and technical potentialities of these instruments together.
