John Fonville presents Striae, for flute optionally doubling alto flute and vibraphone.
As defined in geology, Striae are scratches or tiny grooves on the surface of a rock, resulting from the action of moving ice, as of a glacier. Full of complex textures, Fonville's piece mimics the various parts of this process through music.
