Lombardo writes about this piece, 'Stephen Foster's America' is a charming medley of some of my favorite songs from this well-known American composer. His melodies are uncomplicated, use fundamental harmonies, and yet stay quite lovely while capturing the American spirit. Even though this arrangement is not too difficult, musicians must carefully watch for meter, tempo, and key changes. I believe this arrangement is a nice addition to the flute choir repertoire and will become a standard literature for these ensembles. The publication is a very useful work and perfect on an Americana themed program.
