Jean Francaix's 'Quintette [Quintet]' for flute, violin, viola, cello, and harp was composed in 1934 and is four movements: Andante tranquillo, Scherzo, Andante, and Rondo. This edition includes the parts only with the score sold separately. A twentieth century French composer, Francaix was naturally gifted in music and began writing when he was only six years old. He published his first work at the age of ten which caught the attention of renowned composer and teacher, Nadia Boulanger whom considered Francaix to be one of her best pupils. Francaix was a skilled orchestrator which was reflected in his use of interesting timbres and tone colors which is evident in this beautiful quintet.
