Gerard Billaudot Editeur presents Odette Gartenlaub's Concerto in this reduction for flute and piano.

Gartenlaub's Concerto is advanced in difficulty and 20 minutes in duration. Published in 2001, it consists of three movements in the traditional fast-slow-fast form.Consistently shifting meters and flourishing scalar passages wind through the entire work, creating a dramatic work that is definitely indicative of 21st melodic and tonal harmony.

"During her life, she won the Premiere Grand Prix de Rome and was a well-known international soloist. While a young woman, she studied music at the Paris Conservatory with Olivier Messiaen, Henri Busser, and Darius Milhaud. During the 1970’s, Gartenlaub participated in a think tank to shape the reform of music theory, which was set up by the Inspector at the Ministry of Culture. She was essential in offering educational guidance concerning educational tools for future teacher training." - Anna Edwards, 2020
