Grovlez, G :: Romance et scherzo
Gabriel Grovlez's Romance and Scherzo, for flute and piano, was one of the Morceau de Concours (competition pieces) for the Paris Conservatoire, serving as the defining piece for the year of 1927. Echoes of Gaubert's Nocturne et Allegro Scherzando and Enesco's Cantabile et Presto appear, though all in Grovlez's own, somewhat more sly language.
