Raymond Guiot's Prelude et Final, for flute and piano. A large recital work in two near-continuous movements (much like the Dutilleux), the Prelude et Final contains intensely French vocabulary with dark, occasionally jazzy melodic and harmonic movement. The Prelude opens with a drifting sound; the Finale is an accelerated back-and-forth between flute and piano, with a cadenza and a final return to the opening of the the Finale.
