International Music Company presents Handel's 'Three Arias' from L'Allegro, Radamisto, and Allessandro arranged for flute (or oboe), violin, viola, and cello by Graham Bastable.
'The three arias in these arrangements come from Handel's operas 'Alessandro' and 'Radamisto', and his setting of John Milton's poem 'L'Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato'. I have sought to maintain all harmonic and contrapuntal material, which in a few spots exceeds what is available on four instruments. In the viola part, when an additional line is included, it is written in smaller notes marked 'ossia'. I have added slurs and bowings sparingly, leaving the rest to the discretion of the performers.'
