The opus 3 by Johann Adolf Hasse contains twelve flute concertos, of which this work is the seventh in the series. The modern edition of this particular concerto is justified, in addition to the elegance and peculiarity of style (lusher and more tongue-in-cheek than comparative same-period works), by the facility of the instrumental technique. The flute part is constructed of virtuosic and highly engaging melodic elements, lying in that rewarding middle realm of easily executable but highly musical and flashy performance. In three movements - Allegro, Adagio, and Allegro.
