Hofmann, D :: Hymnus
Furore presents 'Hymnus: Works for solo flute' by Dorothea Hofmann.
These three works for flute solo were created between 2011 and 2014 and are dedicated to various topics. Selene was the moon goddess of the Greek gods who gave eternal sleep and awakened immortal love. 'Lingua Ignota' refers to Hildegard von Bingen, who with her 'unknown language' invented and recorded the oldest secret language known to us. 'Hymn' from the 12th century becomes the basis of a jubilus-like fantasy that moves in the peculiar tonality of the tonus peregrinus.
