Musicians Publications presents Lunar Elevations for flute choir and optional drum set composed by Bill Holcombe. This flute choir work has multiple options for performance. It is scored for 4 C flutes, alto flute, and bass flute, but also includes an optional part for contra bass flute or string bass, as well as an optional drum set part.
True to its title, this piece evokes images of outer space with a jazz feel. At a moderate swing tempo, the addition of the optional drum set part will exaggerate that jazz mood. It is not an extraordinarily difficult piece and will be a blast to play for every member of the ensemble!
