Hoyos, G :: The Joy of Breathing Volume 1
Tetractys Publishing presents 'The Joy of Breathing Volume 1' by Gaspar Hoyos.
Hoyos writes about this book, 'Music is an art which allows us to express emotions and feelings. When learning an instrument, we often forget to speak about physical mechanisms, the sensations and gestures which mobilise all of our energy to enhance expression. For me, the key to this transformation lies in breathing. Breathing allows us to embark joyfully on that marvelous adventure that is flute playing. Attentive work on breathing significantly enriches the musical experience, while intensifying the pleasure and joy of expression. By focusing on breathing and adopting an approach which is more aware of the body, the flute can become a means to deepening self-understanding.'
