Zimmermann presents 'Idylle, op. 14' for flute and piano by composer Theodore Akimenko, edited by Anton Kushnir and Maria Pukhlianko.
The editors write about this piece, 'The music of Theodore (Fedir) Akimenko is a synthesis of themes. On the one hand, it is permeated with intonations of Ukrainian folk songs, on the other hand with European musical traditions of the early 20th century. 'Idyll' for flute and piano is consonant with French pieces of this period. It is light and bright, but at the same time deep and imaginative. The author leaves a possibility for the performers to create their own story in this music.'
