Janacek, L :: 3 Moravian Dances
3 Moravian Dances
Janacek, L
International Music Company presents Leos Janacek's 3 Moravian Dances for flute, oboe, clarinet and bassoon transcribed by Milan Munclinger; includes score and parts.
'Among Janacek's posthumous works were found piano sketches on themes taken from Moravian Folk Music. He used these folk themes also in his opera 'Jenufa' and in 'Lachian Dances'. Janacek had a distinct original way of writing for woodwind ensemble, and a study of his Chamber Music works enabled me to arrange these sketches in the composer's style. The first one, 'Ej Denaj,' was dated 1892, and the other two, 'Celadensky' and 'Pilky', bear the date of 1894.'
