The twelve etudes of Niels Peter Jensen's Op. 25 express the early German Romantic language Jensen was drenched in through his early and late professional career. The etudes fit many of the patterns found in flute music of the time, adhering unusually well to a sense of 'learn the etudes, learn all the contemporaneous music.'
