The structure of Escape Velocity is built around two complementary extended flute techniques: the 'jet whistle' (which can sound like a sudden take off) and the 'tongue ram' (which can suggest an abrupt fall to earth). These two effects are alternated with more and more music interpolated between them as the 'flights' become longer and longer...
