Zen-On Music presents Hitomi Kaneko's Centrifuge for solo flute.
Notes from the composer, Kaneko: "The note F has more than just existence, it has significance. Let us consider for a moment the consequences of that existence and the transformation of its significance. Despite the fact that its nucleus, i.e. individuality, does not change, its significance can be altered without one's knowledge. The change comes from without, not from within the note. This piece portrays a movement of such an existence, as it appears at a certain place and as it moves away from that place. It is shifted by a natural force, as it were unintentionally blown off course, away from reality. . ."
