Edition Svitzer presents 'Bukovyna and Ukrainian Duma' for flute alone by composer Yaroslav Kushnir and arranged by Anton Kushnir.
Yaroslav Kushnir is a Ukrainian musician, flutist, and composer. The basis of Kushnir's compositional works are pieces for flute. Most of these works are based on the folklore of Bukovyna, the composer's native region. Bukovyna has been sometimes labeled as 'Switzerland of the East' given it diverse ethnic mosaic and deep forested mountainous landscapes.
Anton Kushnir is a Ukrainian flutist, author of theoretical studies and musical pieces, and professor of the flute class of the National Music Academy of Ukraine (Kyiv). A 'Duma' is a sung, epic poem which originated in Ukraine during the Hetmanate Era in the XVI Century. The basis of the Ukrainian Duma presented in this edition is the ancient Cossack song "Oh, don't scare, owl." This song is a lament for fallen warriors. This is a song of a free, proud people who are fighting and winning.

Sheet music, instrument purchases, and Special Order Only (SOO) merchandise are non-returnable.
For other non-instrument merchandise, request return authorization or make an in-person return within 10 calendar days of the original invoice date. Items must be unused, undamaged, in their original packaging with all contents, and accompanied by the original receipt or invoice. Electronic media must be unopened.
Shipped returns require prior authorization. Return Authorizations (RAs) are valid for 10 calendar days from issue. The RA number must appear on the package, and the return must arrive within that period.
Defective merchandise may be exchanged for an identical item if requested within 10 calendar days of the original invoice date. After that period, contact the manufacturer. Please contact us promptly about fulfillment errors.
