Lacour, G :: Entrelacs
Guy Lacour's Entrelacs, for flute and alto saxophone, is a heavily impressionistic showpiece that stretches both instruments to their virtuosically flowing limits. Though it begins in a slow adagio, both instruments quickly begin adding wandering excursions to their main melodies, and the two players drift around each other until the attaca into the Allegro second half, which maintains the impressionistic feel while bustling up into a quicker 2/4.
