Lalo, E :: Chants Russes
Chants Russes
Lalo, E
From the publisher, Gerard Billaudot, Edouard Lalo’s Chants Russes from ‘Concerto Russe’ op. 29 has been beautifully transcribed for flute and piano by Pierre Paubon. This second movement was taken from ‘Concerto Russe,’ a Russian concerto written for the Spanish violinist Pablo de Sarasate. The Russian concerto, as is implied by its name, is inspired from Rimsky-Korsakov’s ‘Russian Folk Songs.’ Chants Russes feels sacred, as though singing a prayer. Edouard Lalo is a beloved 19th century French composer.
