LeMay, L :: Innes Glas
Innes Glas
LeMay, L
Innes Glas is gaelic for green or emerald isle/island. Innes Glas was inspired by the composer's experiences while touring with the American Flute Choir in Ireland. The entire piece may be performed on flute; however, using a tin whistle on the appropriately marked places will evoke true Irish spirit. 'Lovely, But Rugged' a phrase used by locals throughout the countryside, depicts the strength and majesty of the landscape. 'Gogarty's Pub Crawl' captures the joy and excitement of the live music found in the pubs. Dublin is well known for its 'Pub Crawls' where participants, including families, walk from pub to pub on the evening's crawl, enjoying good company and fabulous music. Gogarty's was the composer's favorite pub.
For flute (optionally doubling tin whistle) and piano.
