Jose Lourenco presents AKINZOK for flute alone.
From the composer:
'This piece for solo flute, Akinzok, was conceived in empathy with the South American peoples, in particular with the descendants of the civilizations Inca, Maia, and Azteca. The name of Akinzok is one of the deities of one of these civilizations, related to music.
In this piece, realized in 1984, I tried to integrate some elements of the contemporary writing technique for flute into a traditional language.'
