The central message of the text (set to the tune EL CAMINO) asserts that the image of God in Christ is best seen in the plight of the rejected of society, and that we are closest to God when we give to, share with, and love them. This festive hymn setting facilitates congregational singing with Latin percussion which points to the ancestry of the tune and text. Flute and brass quintet lend extra color.
