Marshall, J :: Marblehead Sea Cove
Subito Music presents 'Marblehead Sea Cove' for flute alone by composer James Marshall.
The composer writes, ''Marblehead, Solo Flute' was composed in anticipation of and following a visit to the New England town in September, 2015. The occasion was the reunion of travel companions including my friend Judy Stringer who had lived in Marblehead in the 1960s. The solo flute piece is in two movements: Sea (the Tempest) and Cove. 'Sea' depicts the tempest of the untamed sea, virility of its power, and effervescence of its waves. 'Cove' portrays the serenity of the sheltered cove bay of Marblehead.'
