Martinon, J :: Sonatine
Sonatine
Martinon, J
From the publisher, Gerard Billaudot, Jean Martinon’s Sonatine for flute and piano was published in 1969. Approximately seven minutes in length, this beautiful work is of intermediate difficulty, and uses the entire standard range of the flute from low B to high C. Sonatine is an excellent recital selection because of the many characters and colors Martinon captures through the flute and piano lines. He requires great technical facility, stunning long phrases, as well as an overall sense of maturity throughout the virtuosic passages. All flutists will want this work in their music libraries. Jean Martinon was a prolific 20th century French composer.
