Gareth McLearnon presents 'Edge Effect' for flute ensemble.
First premiered at the Australian Flute Festival in Sydney in July 2019 - this piece is in two parts - a weird, other-worldly, wondrous, eccentric beginning, where we have four huge crescendos - followed by four stabs with pp echos underneath. Then what follows is a super rhythmic and extremely groovy section - guaranteed to energise and thrill the participants as well as the audience! There is an opportunity for solos - to be taken on by either members of the ensemble, guest artists, or (as in the case of the premiere recording) by the conductor!
