Chiel Meijering's Parrots in Tunesia, full of ultra-exotic and sly musical ideas, kicks off with an aggressive Part 1, full of parrotical flutterings and driving rhythms. Part 2 retains Meijering's sense of coyness and strangeness, while retaining that appealing exotic sense and melodic motion, and Part 3 launches into a back-and-forth moto perpetuo between the flute and piano to finish off the piece.
