The music of saxophonist, flautist & bass clarinetist, Eric Dolphy was a huge influence on my early work both as a composer and as a performer. This short piece for alto flute - an instrument Dolphy did not play but yet seems to somehow embody the instruments he did - is a homage, of sorts, to him. Much of the material is based on his improvisational language while a few of his compositions (Gazzeloni, Something Sweet Something Tender) creep into the music from time to time. The opening introduction is based on the first solo passage he played on his last ever concert (immortalized on the album Last Date) just days before his untimely death in 1964.

For other non-instrument merchandise, request return authorization or make an in-person return within 10 calendar days of the original invoice date. Items must be unused, undamaged, in their original packaging with all contents, and accompanied by the original receipt or invoice. Electronic media must be unopened.
Shipped returns require prior authorization. Return Authorizations (RAs) are valid for 10 calendar days from issue. The RA number must appear on the package, and the return must arrive within that period.
Defective merchandise may be exchanged for an identical item if requested within 10 calendar days of the original invoice date. After that period, contact the manufacturer. Please contact us promptly about fulfillment errors.
