Moravec, P :: Davida's Dream
Paul Moravec's Davida's Dream, for flute, bassoon, and piano, is a wandering two-movement fantasia in Moravec's signature modified tonality and flexible combination of Impressionism and Americana. The first movement, a stately yet melancholy neo-romantic introduction, gives plenty of melodic material to all instruments. The second movement, truer to the fantasia style, explores more bach-and-forth and instrumental colorations and textures.
