From the publisher, Gerard Billaudot, Pietro Morlacchi’s Capriccio Originale op. 4 for flute and piano has been beautifully transcribed for piccolo and piano by Jean-Louis Beaumadier. In five short sections, Introduction, Andantino, Allegro, and Allegretto non tanto, Coda, this showpiece is approximately seven minutes in length and quite advanced. Morlacchi demands utmost control in all registers, embouchure flexibility, clean articulation, and breath support, as well as exceptional technical facility through this nine minutes in length work. Capriccio Originale is an essential addition to any flutist’s library. Pietro Morlacchi was a prolific 18th/19th century Italian composer.
