Mozart, WA :: Concerto No. 1 in G Major, K.313
Mozart, Wolfgang Amadeus
Zen-on music presents Mozart's Flute Concerto No. 1 in G Major, K.313 in a piano reduction as part of their International Standard Repertoire Collection. This edition is revised by Toshio Takahashi.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a prolific composer of all the major forms of music in the Classical Period. However, very little of his music was written for the flute. In September of 1777 Mozart went of to Munich and Mannheim to find a position that suited his needs. Though he failed in finding a position he was commissioned by a Dutch flutist, De Jean, to write some flute concertos and quartets. Out of this commission came the three flute quartets for flute and strings, as well as the Flute Concerto in G Major and Flute Concerto in D major.
