Mozart, WA :: Rondo alla Turka
Rondo alla Turka
Mozart, WA
The last movement of Mozart's Piano Sonata No. 11, this piece was inspired by the music of Turkish marching bands. In Mozart's day this piece was often performed on a piano which had a 'Turkish Stop': a knee operated device that added percussive embellishment. But here the two piccolos take the lead and add colour to this quartet showpiece.
