This edition of Mozart s 'Serenades' wishes to encourage musicians to experiment with different sounds: the trios can be played by practically all instruments (strings, winds, piano) current today in home music-making. This is absolutely in agreement with their historical origins. This Barenreiter edition offers particular options: flute solo with piano or, with the provided separate parts, two flutes (or two treble instruments of choice) and viola, cello, or bassoon.
Mozart composed the five wind Divertimenti at a time when he was experimenting with various combination of sound in his musical 'private life', free from the pressure of commissions and popular success. While playing music with friends, he would exchange the instruments, thus producing ever new textures. Thus the 'Serenades' lend themselves just as much as ever to an interpretation with varying tone colours and instruments, and will hopefully stimulate musicians imagination and delight in experimentation.

Sheet music, instrument purchases, and Special Order Only (SOO) merchandise are non-returnable.
For other non-instrument merchandise, request return authorization or make an in-person return within 10 calendar days of the original invoice date. Items must be unused, undamaged, in their original packaging with all contents, and accompanied by the original receipt or invoice. Electronic media must be unopened.
Shipped returns require prior authorization. Return Authorizations (RAs) are valid for 10 calendar days from issue. The RA number must appear on the package, and the return must arrive within that period.
Defective merchandise may be exchanged for an identical item if requested within 10 calendar days of the original invoice date. After that period, contact the manufacturer. Please contact us promptly about fulfillment errors.
