International Music Company presents Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's 'Sinfonia Concertante in D major', K. 448 (k6 375a) for two flutes and piano transcribed and edited by Robert Stallman.
Notes from the editor: 'The Sinfonia Concertante in D major is my recreation of Mozart's Sonata in the same key for two pianos (Vienna, September 1781). Written as a tour de force for his gifted student Josepha von Auernhammer and himself, the Sonata's exuberant virtuosity (each soloist vying with the other on an equal footing) and the sublime cantabile of its middle movement have conspired to make this one of Mozart's most popular and appealing compositions for keyboard. Mozart himself prized this sonata so highly that he performed it at least six times for the Viennese public.
In essence a duo in concertante style, the sonata lends itself readily to two solo flutes, in terms of range, character, and brilliance. Moreover, the supporting material strongly suggests orchestral treatment (strings, paired oboes, and horns) in festive concertante style, featuring tutti solos from the orchestral winds. Thus the adopted title 'Sinfonia Concertante' seems apt for this new setting.

For other non-instrument merchandise, request return authorization or make an in-person return within 10 calendar days of the original invoice date. Items must be unused, undamaged, in their original packaging with all contents, and accompanied by the original receipt or invoice. Electronic media must be unopened.
Shipped returns require prior authorization. Return Authorizations (RAs) are valid for 10 calendar days from issue. The RA number must appear on the package, and the return must arrive within that period.
Defective merchandise may be exchanged for an identical item if requested within 10 calendar days of the original invoice date. After that period, contact the manufacturer. Please contact us promptly about fulfillment errors.
